Tips to not become house poor

A colleague of mine pinned this on her Pinterest board and I thought to myself, "ALL MY FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS NEED TO SEE THIS!!" The last thing that I want for my buyers, first time or not, is to be house poor.  I don't want them coming to me after buying a home and saying, "Now that I bought this house...,  "I can't afford to go on a date with my husband", or, "I can't take my kids to Disneyland",  or, "I am eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every night because I can't afford anything else"  Ahhh, that is awful!! I work by referral so these are words  that I NEVER want to hear from a client. I want my clients to be able to afford "life" outside of their homes.

This is a great article from the Veterans United Network and offers "5 Tips to avoid being house poor." I hope that it helps all out there who are looking to purchase a home in the near future!

New Beginnings!

So I am taking the first step into the blogging world.  I know that I am a little late to the game, but as I was often told "better late then never" :).

A little bit about me: I whole heartily love the Lord and know that He always has the best planned for my life.  I  love my beloved husband and desire to respect him and the amazing man that he is. I am a Real Estate agent and find it pure joy to deliver keys to a home buyer for the first time,so that they can  make their house their home. I love my doggy, Posey, just because she is adorable, crazy and sweet. And I love making my house, OUR HOME SWEET HOME!  Here is to the beginning of this blogging journey.
